Cover Letter

PBS International Ltd.

A good CV by itself is not enough. It has to be accompanied by a cover letter which will attract the attention of the employer. In a cover letter we can briefly explain the most important parts of our CV, our reason for applying and our strengths. Thanks to the letter formula, we can show something from our personality as well.

Let's see some extra advice on our cover letter sample:

It should not be longer than one page. We should restrict ourselves to the essential points! Regarding the structure, we can divide it to the following parts:

Introductory part: introduce yourself and name the position, which you are applying for. Refer to the source of the job advertisement (newspaper, internet, or a person etc.) and explain why you've got interested in it and why are you applying for it. Beyond the excitement of the position you can reason with the information that you've learnt about the company.

Middle part: start with the date and place of your highest level of graduation. Then write about your current (or the recent) work: the name of the company, the period of employment, the position that you've held and the tasks that you've dealed with. At this point you can highlight every success that you've achieved at the company and the most important projects in which you participated. Don't forget to mention any training or further education which is in connection with the job that you are applying for, or if you gained useful experiences at previous workplaces. When you're describing your strengths and properties that make you the best applicants, you should do it in a factual, convincing, but not in a self-sufficient way!

Closing part: be striking and polite! Express your hope that your letter and CV has aroused their interest and that you'll get the opportunity for a personal appointment.

A general rule: write simply, clearly and fluently! Pay attention to neat vocabulary and avoid long and complicated sentences. Just like our CV, the cover letter should be read by others in order to check grammar and avoid faults, wrong spelling, and repetition.
